Roleplay Rev User Guide

I Want a One Shot Adventure

Go to the create adventures index and type in the core concept! This can be a single word like “Gladiators” or be several paragraphs detailing exaclty what you want.

Any monsters, magic items, or DC checks will be balanced for the party level, size, and difficulty you choose.

If you want more control over the adventureComplete being created, toggle Detailed mode. This lets you confirm the background lore, plot hook, and each section.

Subscibers can add generated Player Characters, battlemaps, and can create unlimited adventures!

What is a Roleplay Rev Adventure?

It is roughly designed for one session. It starts with lore and an initial scene. Then it has a series of sections and has a conclusion. Sections are the most unique aspect.

Sections are the meat of the adventureComplete. Each section revolves a few core challenges the adventurers need to solve: such as investigating a murder, sneaking into a vault, or fighting a cyborg goblin.

Sections are split into 10 types:
  • Seduction: Make love, not war. Must be 18+.
  • Combat: Fight monsters or otherwise get past them
  • Exploration: Navigate a dangerous environment
  • Persuasion: Use your social skills on someone reluctant to help
  • Trap: A complex trap with several steps to disarm and several dangers
  • Riddle: A riddle to solve, or find an alternative to
  • Investigation: Look through evidence to learn key details
  • Information: Learn new plot info, and potentially get a reward
  • Stealth: Sneak through a dangerous area
  • Chased: Run away!

Editing

Click on any monsters, NPCs, or magic items to get a whole suit of options. Add images, replace values, or swap them out for one you created previously!

In addition to plaintext editing, you have several AI editing tools.

Use these to add twists to adventure sections. I.E. Set a battlefield on fire.

Place items where your cursor is selected, or rebalance to a new party size and level

Change the party size, level, and add minor changes to the adventure as a whole (located under the edit button).

Battlemaps

Battlemaps are added to Combat Sections, and are selected based on the terrain of the encounter. If you don't like what you got, click it to change it out with 3 other options.

Battlemaps come from a premade image library. There are over 1,000 maps there, but doesn't mean we always get it right. If there is something that is consistently giving you trouble, please join the Discord and leave a message under the battlemap-requests channel.

Player Characters

Selecting the Player Characters will generate ready to play characters for the adventureComplete. These characters are generated use standard Player's Handbook Rules but are unique to where the adventureComplete takes place. In a cyberpunk world, wizards tend to be hackers and fighters are cybernetic super soldiers.

Player Characters are not yet directly editable, but you can create more player characters by clicking on the Edit button and then the add character button. In this way you will have more control over the characters generated.

PCs have their stats and equipment filled in mostly intelligently, with a dash of randomenss, and a backstory appropriate to the setting.

    Sneak Attack: 6d6

    Sneak Attack

Once per turn, you can deal Sneak Attack damage to one creature you hit with an attack if you have advantage on the attack roll. The attack must use a finesse or a ranged weapon.

    Thieves' Cant

You know thieves' cant, a secret mix of dialect, jargon, and code that allows you to hide messages in seemingly normal conversation. You also understand a set of secret signs and symbols used to convey short, simple messages.

    Cunning Action

You can take a bonus action on each of your turns in combat. This action can be used only to take the Dash, Disengage, or Hide action.

    Fast Hands

You can use the bonus action granted by your Cunning Action to make a Dexterity (Sleight of Hand) check, use your thieves' tools to disarm a trap or open a lock, or take the Use an Object action.

    Second-Story Work

Climbing no longer costs you extra movement. When you make a running jump, the distance you cover increases by a number of feet equal to your Dexterity modifier.

    Uncanny Dodge

When an attacker that you can see hits you with an attack, you can use your reaction to halve the attack's damage against you.

    Evasion

When you are subjected to an effect that allows you to make a Dexterity saving throw to take only half damage, you instead take no damage if you succeed on the saving throw, and only half damage if you fail.

    Supreme Sneak

You have advantage on a Dexterity (Stealth) check if you move no more than half your speed on the same turn.

    Reliable Talent

Whenever you make an ability check that lets you add your proficiency bonus, you can treat a d20 roll of 9 or lower as a 10.

    Fey Ancestry

You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed, and magic can't put you to sleep.

    Trance

Elves don't need to sleep. Instead, they meditate deeply, remaining semiconscious, for 4 hours a day.

    Mask of the Wild

You can attempt to hide even when you are only lightly obscured by foliage, heavy rain, falling snow, mist, and other natural phenomena.

    Backstory

    Languages: Elvish, Common

I was faced with a tough decision when I was hired to steal from the Thalos corporation. The job was simple enough, break into their laboratory and destroy valuable equipment. However, when I arrived, I discovered that they were close to developing ground breaking medicines that could save lives. I had to make a choice; sabotage the facility and get paid, or leave it and allow them to finish their research. In the end, I chose to leave. There were a couple hard months, and other clients occasionally refuse to hire me, but I know I made the right choice.
